Ahahaha... safe to say a lot has changed, that's for sure! Little 13-year-old-me had no idea how rewarding, creative, and fulfilling this path would be (granted, the industry has also changed a lot since then). Originally, I wanted to work for NatGeo, then I fell in love with editorial portraits, but eventually I realized that both of those industries failed to fulfill one key desire: personal connection. Meeting people like me, telling stories of couples who are truly in love, building their life and a story of their own - not models, not staged, just raw, human connection. That is what I fell in love with. The love of people mixed with my love for cameras (seriously, I freaking love cameras) pulled me towards this amazing career path that brings me so much joy! I am grateful every single day ◡̈
Let's flash back to sophomore year of high school. I'm 15, in marching band (colorguard, specifically), and I bump into 16 year old Evan Gongwer (also marching band - drummer). A classic high school romance trope. After a summer of becoming friends, we began dating in 2015 and the rest is history. We adopted a dog and cat in 2020, got married in 2022, and just bought our first home in the summer of 2024! Life currently has been full of home renovations and new adventures, but we are so so happy. We both love to travel and have been all over the world, hiking and kayaking and exploring! We love to walk our pomeranian Rue and watch movies with snacks in the evening. I am lucky to have him as my partner in crime.
